4-Day Masai Mara & Lake Nakuru Safari

Depart Nairobi in the morning and drive through the Great Rift Valley, enjoying sweeping views and photo stops along the way. Arrive at Lake Nakuru National Park in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive. The park is known for its populations of both black and white rhinos, tree-climbing lions, and the endangered Rothschild giraffe. You may also see flamingos and pelicans along the lake’s edge. Return to your lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, leave Nakuru and drive south toward the Masai Mara National Reserve, arriving in time for lunch. In the afternoon, head out for your first game drive in the Mara. The reserve’s golden plains are teeming with wildlife — elephants, zebras, giraffes, and predators like lions and cheetahs are common sightings. Return to your camp or lodge for dinner and a peaceful night surrounded by the sounds of the wild.

Enjoy a full day of game viewing in Kenya’s most famous wildlife reserve. Set out early for a morning drive when predators are most active, then continue exploring with a packed picnic lunch in the bush. You may spot all members of the Big Five — lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant, and rhino — as well as countless antelope and bird species. If visiting between July and October, witness the Great Migration, when millions of wildebeest and zebras cross the Mara River in search of greener pastures. In the evening, relax at your lodge or join an optional visit to a nearby Maasai village for a glimpse of traditional culture.

After breakfast, enjoy a scenic road transfer back to Nairobi, taking in the beautiful landscapes and local life along the way. Arrive in the city by late afternoon, where your safari with African Wildtail Adventures concludes. Depending on your plans, you’ll be dropped off at your hotel or the airport for your onward journey.
