3-Day Masai Mara Safari

Depart Nairobi early in the morning for the drive to the Masai Mara, which takes approximately 5–6 hours with scenic stops along the way. Arrive in time for lunch at your lodge or camp, then head out for an afternoon game drive. This first safari introduces you to the Mara’s incredible wildlife and vast landscapes. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Wake up early for a morning game drive, when wildlife is most active. Explore the Mara in search of the Big Five — lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino — along with zebras and giraffes. If traveling during the migration season, your guide may take you to see the Great Migration, where thousands of wildebeest and zebras cross the Mara River, a spectacular wildlife event. Enjoy a packed picnic lunch in the bush before continuing afternoon drives, visiting different areas of the reserve to spot new animals. Optional evening activity: visit a Maasai village to learn about local culture. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, depart the Mara and drive back to Nairobi, arriving in the afternoon. This final day does not include a game drive, giving you a relaxed return journey while reflecting on your safari experiences. Your safari concludes with drop-off at your hotel or the airport, leaving you with unforgettable memories of Kenya’s wildlife and landscapes.
